BISCAYNE PARK CARPORT

Designed for a car enthusiast needing space to work on his sports cars, this project  unexpectedly became about a tree.   A beautiful tree filled this property’s west facing backyard and offered essential shade throughout the year.  To preserve the tree, the project brief was shifted from a garage to a carport with more minimal foundations.  A carport with a low-slung roof to fit under the trees branches was developed and doubled as a cabana bath.  A new patio united the existing deck, relocated pool, and carport - all pinwheeling around the tree.
